Free Princess and Her pet 01 Cross Stitch Pattern

Mermaid Princess and Her Angelfish

This delightful watercolor princess and her charming angelfish are absolutely adorable. The design brings back fond memories of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” movie. I absolutely adored this film, with its vibrant colors and catchy tunes.

So here is a trivia question from “The Little Mermaid”: How do Ariel and Flounder get away from the shark?

Answer: The shark had its “aha” moment and decided to play a game of hide and seek with Ariel and Flounder. As they made a daring escape from the ship, Ariel accidentally dropped her bag of treasures, leading to a hilarious and unexpected pit stop. In a twist of fate, the shark, thinking it had the perfect opportunity for a snack, got a bit too enthusiastic and ended up in a comical predicament – stuck in an anchor. Oh, the things that happen when sharks try to play games!

Happy stitching and take some time to goof off!

The Pattern(s)

When converting watercolor artwork into cross stitch patterns, I know it was important to consider the level of detail and intricacy to ensure that the essence of the original artwork was preserved. Additionally, the choice of color palette and the number of thread shades can greatly impact the final results, so I created the designs each using two sizes of stitch counts, as well as different number of colors of DMC threads used.

It’s fascinating to witness the transformation of a two-dimensional artwork into a three-dimensional textured piece through the art of cross stitching.
