Hello Spring Stitchers!
Ah, April in the Pacific Northwest—where Mother Nature keeps us on our toes. One moment it’s sunny and glorious; the next, the rain gods are having a field day. But that’s spring for you! Our hyacinths were the first to bloom this year and are nearly done.

With longer evenings finally gracing us, Mr. Goofin’ Off and I have been sneaking in as much outdoor time as we can when it’s not raining. We’ve been enjoying walks through the nearby nature preserves and, when the stars align, taking quick trips to the beach just 20 minutes away. And, yes, I’ve managed some stitching in between! 🧵
New Free Patterns to Brighten Your April
This past month, I’ve added three delightful new designs to the blog, ready for your stitching pleasure:
1. April Showers May Flowers Boots 01
This design features a pair of cheerful garden boots overflowing with a lush spring bouquet! Vibrant, charming, and perfect for ushering spring into your home.

2. Hummingbird Splendor 04
A colorful and lively addition to the hummingbird series—this little beauty will pop off your fabric in vibrant spring hues. We’ve even planted some hummingbird-friendly flowers in our yard this year, hoping to see even more of these feathered friends than we had last year!

3. Beachfront Bliss 01
The first in a serene new series of beach landscapes, this design features soothing neutral tones. It was inspired by one of our peaceful, gray-day walks along the beach of the Puget Sound. A little moody and a lot relaxing.

Personal Stitching Updates!
If you’ve been following my personal updates and projects, here is what I’ve been up to!
Mickey and Pirate Friends – Large Full-Coverage
Progress Report: The ends of Pluto’s scarf are officially finished and it’s tied and knotted and looking spiffy–even if it’s getting in Donald’s eye! Soon, I’ll start working on Pluto’s head–he’s ready for his big debut.

Barnyard Duck
Let me tell you, confetti stitching may test my patience at times, but the details it brings are soooo worth it! The barn is slowly coming together, complete with a touch of moss on the roof for that authentic Pacific Northwest barn charm. My camera truly does not bring justice how this little quilt square is coming along.

More Spring-Inspired Free Patterns
For those of you itching to start something fresh this spring, here are a few of my favorite free “spring-y” patterns floating around the blog:

That’s all for now, my fellow stitchers. Whether you’re dodging raindrops or soaking up sunshine, I hope this month is full of colorful stitches and creative joy. And remember, just like April showers bring May flowers, a little patience and effort always lead to something beautiful!
Happy stitching!
