Summer Floral Patriotic Bouquet

Free cross stitch pattern of a summer floral patriotic bouquet in red, white, and blue.

Hey stitchy friends!

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I have a weakness for full coverage designs that are watercolor themed…and this big, beautiful bouquet is one of my favorites! I am SO excited to share this summer floral patriotic bouquet free cross stitch pattern with you today, because it’s got everything: roses, daises, sprigs of berries, and a whole meadow of little wildflowers, and a subtle marbled background that makes the whole thing look like it’s been painted rather than stitched.

This one is a full coverage design, which means every single square of that 300×300 stitch canvas gets filled in — no bare fabric peeking through anywhere. It’s a bit of a project (69 colors of DMC floss, ya’ll), but I promise it’s so worth it. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching a design like this come to life stitch by stitch, and the end result looks like a piece of fine art hanging on your wall.

A Little About This Design

This bouquet is bursting with red roses, white, daisies and sprigs of summer berries, all tucked into a beautiful blue vase and filled out with soft wildflowers in every shade of red, white, and blue you can imagine. The background his this dreamy marbled effect that took a bit of experimenting my from my vault of backgrounds designs to get just the right colors of floss — but I love how it turned out. It gives the whole piece this soft, painter quality that I think you’re going to love watching come to life on your fabric.

Pattern Details:

  • Size: 300 x 300 stitches
  • Coverage: Full coverage (100% of the fabric is stitched)
  • Colors: 69 DMC floss colors

New patterns to the blog (like this one!) go out to my monthly newsletter family first, along with stitching tips, behind-the scenes peeks at what I’m personally working on, and the occasional story about my own stitching mishaps. The Start of Something New (and Something Old)

This pattern is actually the very first design in what I’m hoping will become a whole collection — I’m calling it Stars, Stripes, and Stitches. This pattern originally was sold in my Etsy store which I closed a while back now. I’ve got a soft spot for patriotic-themed pieces (there’s just something about red, white, and blue together that feels so cheerful and nostalgic…like setting off sparklers with my siblings at the beach. I can’t wait to keep building out this series with more designs down the road. If you love this one, keep an eye out — this bouquet won’t be flying solo for long!
