Hi stitchy friends,
Can we talk about how fast July flew by? Grab your iced tea, lemonade, or your favorite summer cold drink, and let’s catch up!
A Perfect 4th of July

Mr. Goofin’ Off surprised me with a brunch cruise along Lake Union in Seattle on the 4th, and it turned into one of those typical Pacific Northwest days. We left the pier under a blanket of gray clouds, convinced we’d need our jackets all day, and by the time the boat returned to the dock, it was sunny with that perfect not-too-hot summer temperature. Classic Pacific Northwest. We passed the the Sleepless in Seattle house, and then past preparations for the big fireworks show on the lake…which made the trip even more festive. Simple moments like that are the best kind.
Funny enough, the festive flowers displayed at the pier reminded me of a full coverage pattern from my old Esty store days — one I hadn’t thought about in a long time. So I dug it out and it’s now living on the site completely free for anyone who loves a good full coverage design (see the link below). Sometimes inspiration seems to circle right back around.
Also Worth Mentioning…
If you’re a fellow Disney fan (because you must know by now that I am), do yourself a favor and watch Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness. It’s a two-hour special that uses the Disney parks as a jumping-off point into American history, and we found it well done and inspirational. Highly, highly recommended by the Goofin’ Off family.
Some Blog Housekeeping
I’m slowly working my way through the blog and updating some things behind the scenes — so if you spot an older post that still looks a little dated, it’s on the list, I promise, it just might take me a bit to get to everything.
One change I want to flag right away: I’m in the process of removing the email requirement to download patterns. I heard you loud and clear! My patterns are, and always will be, 100% free — no strings attached.
On that note — I have unfortunately seen a few of my free patterns pop up pirated on Pinterest lately. If you ever spot one of my designs posted somewhere that isn’t my site, please let me know. The good news is Pinterest has been great about pulling those down quickly once reported.
New on the Blog
Summer is always a little slower for my actual day job, which means more time for creating content for the blog (and stitching, of course!) — not complaining! Here’s what’s new this month:
New Free Patterns
I’ve got some fun new pattern additions to the blog just for you:
A Peek at What I’m Stitching

On my own hoop right now, I’m still slowly bringing my Mickey and Pirate Friends full coverage piece to life, and it has been such a treat to watch stitch by stitch. It’s a lot of fun watching Mickey’s swashbuckling swagger coming through in the details. Full coverage pieces are always a labor of love (so many stitches…never enough time!), but this one is always a joy to work on. I’ll keep you posted as more of the design comes together!
A Little Treasure Chest Support
Speaking of pirates and swashbuckling adventures — if you’ve ever wanted to help keep this little stitching ship sailing, my Ko-Fi is always open like a treasure chest waiting to be found. Ever pattern here is and always be free, but if you’ve ever felt like tossing a doubloon or two into the crew’s fund, it helps keep the free patterns coming and this whole operation afloat. No pressure, no obligation — just know that every bit of support means the world to me. Thank you for being part of my crew. ⚓️
